The new SLF light head

Beitragvon SpinMark » 11.09.2018, 08:13

Could you please give some information on the new SLF lamp head and when it will be available (possible cost) - I have understood some of the information from the German part of the website but my German is not good enough to understand it all (apologies)

I can only summarise what has already been said on this forum. The new lamp is generally based on the Lupine SL, which is why I would recommend consulting the manual of the SL at first (homepage > english > service > manuals > 2017). The head of the new lamp SL F is four millimeters longer than the head of the SL. The low beam lighting current is 800 lumens, the lighting current of the full beam is 1200 lumens. The lamp can be operated with a remote switch. With its bigger button you can switch between low and full beam, with its smaller button you can dim the low beam from 16W to 8W (and the other way around).
The new lamp comes with a quick release which - as far as i’ve understood - will be available in a diameter of 35.0, 31.8 or 25.4 millimeters. In this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jWMDM4r3D84 Stefan of Lupine estimates the prize at nearly 400€ for the full set.
Greetings!

Keeping my eye on this one. To bad, the current SL is hard to get in the Netherlands.

What about ordering in the Lupine online shop?

That isn't possible. Lupine doesn't offer shipping to the Netherlands, because there is a distributor assigned. If I want to get one, it has to go via a dealer.

Sorry about my obtuseness, but whats the special problem with buying at a NL-dealer? No one in your neighborhood?

H, het spijt me voor uw problemen om een Lupine lamp te kopen in Nederland.
Probeer het toch eens onder gebruik van de volgende link:
https://www.bike-discount.de/en/buy/lup ... vzo-821170

Thanks for the link. Didn't know the difference between the German and the International version. Do prefer the StVZO certification though.

I ordered the SL AF at Bike Discount, and it has arrived today. I also order the Classicmount from Lupine, that is made for the SL-lights.
I knew it isn't made for the SL AF, and it doesn't fit properly. I need to make it slightly wider so it will fit. I expected that the bracket would be
metal but it turns out it's some kind of plastic or is it aluminum? Has anyone a great idea, how to make it wider without destroying the bracket? Can it made be soft enough with hot/boiling water? It only needs it to be 2/3mm wider..

Brought the Classicmount to a local metal workshop and they took a look at it. Bending was a no-go, as it would snap. Their best metalworker grinded it down and made it smooth. Little touch of paint and voila, now the mount fits the SL AF. Will install the light this weekend. :D
