Blika 4SC charging problem

Beitragvon kj2kj2kj2 » 10.12.2017, 08:58

Hi there,

Just bought my first Lupine light, the Blika 4SC. Received the headlamp yesterday. Indicator on the battery pack indicated 40% charge. So I plugged it in to charge. Within 30-45 minutes, the light on the charger turned green. Battery pack said it was charged for 40%. The voltages indicator on the light stated around 8.3V, which should mean full. Then I tested the light for around 10 minutes on High, when I heard a beep from the battery pack. Indicator went to flashing 20%, which means it's empty. Plugged it back on the charger, and within 30 minutes the Wiesel V5 turned green again. Battery pack indicator is still at 20%. Left it on the charger during the night, but that didn't help.

What's wrong with my charger/battery pack?

Looks like I've the same problem, as posted in this thread; viewtopic.php?f=38&t=4241

Point is, I don't have a Charger One. Is there anyway to re-calibrate without the Charger One?

Perhaps this video can help you: https://youtu.be/J1HBrXopRHQ I mean it is in german and the expaination is quite essential because it depends on the battery what to do...
If you watch the video several times you could get an idea how it works, pressing the button has to do with the Ah of the battery!
Afterwards you need to fully discharge and change the battery to complete the process.

Btw. The guy who explains the procedure is from lupine 8)

If you are not sure what to do tell us how many Ah your battery has for a short English description

Yeah, saw the video but my German isn't that good
Have an 3.3Ah (24Wh) battery. Is it hold button for 8 seconds, then press 3 times, wait for led change, and then press again 3 times?

The strange thing is that Stefan never calibrates a 3.3 battery :?:

But so far you are right: press the button for approximately seconds until the 100% led shows up and release the button.
If you have battery < 10.0Ah you don't have to care for the 100% led, just wait for the 80%.

In the 80% mode he press the button 5x times for the 5.x Ah battery, 2 times for a 2.xAh battery, once for the 1.x Ah battery
So in your case it would be 3 times in the 80% mode for the 3,3Ah battery to continue this pattern.

The more difficult thing is the value behind the comma which is the 60% press pattern, in your case x.3 Ah:
For x.2 Ah he doesn't press again
For x.6 he presses 5 times
For x.7 he presses 5 times

I have no idea what the white dress pattern for x.3 but I would guess that you don't have to press again... :?

After that you have to wait that all LEDs show up to confirm the programming. Then fully discharge and full, charge.

Anyway your battery seems to be quite weird and everything would make it better... -hopefully

Tried it, but when I hold the button down for 5-8 seconds, the pack starts to beep but that's it.
Nothing happens, no flashing light. Only beep-beep-beep-beep...

edit; have read the manual again, and I'll just try to drain the battery completely and then recharge it.

To recalibrate the battery, proceed as follows.
Discharge it by switching on the Blika until it goes out of its own accord, so that the battery is empty. Then fully charge the battery until the charger shows full.
That's all you have to do, if you press the button on the battery now, it will show up full.

Working on that right now. But it's weird that it has to be done, for a completely new pack/light.

Yes, I understand. I have the same problem with one of my Smartere batteries, if I run it below 10°C he loses the callibration. Since the lamp indicates the remaining capacity, I don't worry too much about it.

Ran the battery all the way down, yesterday. Plugged it in and left it charging overnight. Now I get 5 beeps and a full indicator. Looks like it's solved :)
